History of the brand
Tiffany & Co opened its first store on Broadway in New York City in 1837. Founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John Barnett Young, the affluent label originally went by the name Tiffany & Young. But in 1953, Charles took sole control of the company and the brand changed its name to the now-famous moniker, Tiffany & Co.
In 1862, Abraham Lincoln signed off the illustrious label as one of the most affluent brand names when he purchased a Tiffany seed pearl necklace and earrings for his wife, who wore them to the inaugural ball.
